It takes between 4 and 12 hours to charge an electric car via a charging station. This is because the terminal releases much more current, which considerably reduces the charging time.
Recharging via a reinforced electrical socket requires at least 24 hours for the electric vehicle to be fully charged. However, whether you are at work or at home, you can use this time for other purposes. You can take the opportunity to install a wallbox to optimise the efficiency and safety of your recharging.
You can determine the recharging time by dividing the power of your battery by that of the terminal. Applying this formula to a 40 kW Renault ZOE for example, the recharging time will be 5.5 hours with a 7.4 kW charging stations. When you divide the 40 kW of the car by the 7.4 kW of the charging station, you get a recharging time of 5.5 hours.
